What is "Innovation" anyway? by anonymous poster [Comment posted 2009-09-04 10:08:36] We need to get back to the basics and support real research that is already out there and on the brink of revealing new perspectives but slowly advancing our knowledge and understanding, rather than get off the wagon and start supporting projects utilizing "innovative" fancy ideas or technology that is worded cleverly to attract just money! Get Real by anonymous poster [Comment posted 2009-09-02 12:22:48] "Innovation" is the very last criterion that one should use to support a valid research project. Most of these projects will "never get off the ground". What a waste of money!!! Get real! pro-biotic bacteria that could inhabit the guts of patients by TS Raman [Comment posted 2009-09-02 02:21:31] This is intriguing. As far as I know, the density of bacterial population in the small intestine in humans is negligble. "Colonization" is only in the large intestine. The question is, even if the bacteria (E. coli or L. plantarum, for example) "produce needed protein and peptide therapeutics" can the products "exit the gut and enter systemic circulation"? AFAIK, again, there is very little absorption, if any, of molecules produced in the large intestine. Comment on this blog |
